What pushes the price up legitimately
Carpets in really bad condition. Pet stains or smells. Walls with lots of marks needing magic eraser work. Mould build-up in bathrooms. A really dirty oven that has been neglected for a while. External windows where they need a ladder. Pool maintenance if your lease covered the pool.
What pushes the price up unfairly
Surcharges added at the end after you book. Fees for things that should be standard, like dusting skirting boards. Mileage charges within metro Perth.
What we recommend asking
Get the quote in writing with everything included spelled out. Ask if the carpet clean is included or extra. Ask whether they offer a bond back guarantee and what that actually means (free re-clean, refund, or just lip service). Ask if they are insured.
